Police soak pedestrian after driving through puddle on Leigh Road Eastleigh Hampshire
Hampshire Constabulary claim the police officer would have deemed the situation too risky to avoid the puddle.
A spokesperson for them said: "It is likely that the officer made an assessment that as they approached this junction, it was safer to continue driving through the puddle rather than stop abruptly and risk causing another vehicle to run into the back of the police car, or avoid the puddle by swerving towards the oncoming vehicle on the other side of the carriageway.
I saw this! Guy looked like he was high. He brake-checked the bus and jumped out of his hairdresser wagon to cry and spit about having a small dick. Ran away when someone on the bus pulled out their phone. He jumped on at the next stop to take pictures of the passenger, then shouted threats from the pavement. I nearly called the police when he boarded the bus, but he was so skinny I was more worried for his safety than the guy he was mouthing off to. Lucky for him, the other guy just laughed and posed for the photo. That did seem to wind the junky up. Good!
