Attempting overtake shortly before roundabout, fortunately aborted. Then overtook with very little room to spare, and almost immediately slowed down and turned left.

How ironic that a driving school does it wrong. According to rule 243 of the Highway Code it says...
"DO NOT stop or park:
- opposite or within 10 metres (32 feet) of a junction, except in an authorised parking space"
So they actually park on the junction with the wheels over thebend of the kerb of the junction!
But then a driving instructor would know the Highway Code.
