If the driver of that vehicle wants to act like some moron from an overseas slum-hole then that's his problem not your's and he has no right to be racist.
You are right to be cautious. A common ploy these days is to send a woman round knocking on doors, only they are not there for good intentions - unbeknown to the occupant other accomplices are in wait (both male and female).
