February 2017 - There were temporary traffic lights on the junction where Trinity Road meets Cuckfield Road in Hurstpierpoint, West Sussex. The incident occurred at the junction next to St. Lawrence School. I drove up the B2117 onto Cuckfield Road (going northbound). There were temporary traffic lights because of some roadworks on Trinity Road. The lights were green as I approached and were still green as I passed the lights. I turned right round the corner into Trinity Road. Because of the road works on the opposite side of the road and the traffic lights only my side of the road next to St. Lawrence School was accessible. However the driver of the Nissan GY59 GOU was on my side of the road and blocking the way instead of waiting behind the lights as per the traffic sign instructions. I stopped my car and waited for the driver to reverse into the space behind/beside him to let me through. However he didn’t move backwards to let me though even though there was plenty of space to do so. Then he waved his hands as to indicate that I was to reverse to let him though. I couldn’t really understand this as my lights had been green when I went through them and other drivers were behind me turning the same corner. He then drove towards me. I had to reverse back into the stream of traffic behind me on Cuckfield Road as the other driver just kept moving towards me. I thought he was going to drive straight into my car and cause an accident. The cars behind me trying to drive up and down Cuckfield Road were all beeping their horns and it was very stressful. I feel that this driver caused an unnecessarily stressful and potentially dangerous situation for no reason whatsoever. He could have easily reversed into the available space and avoided this situation but he deliberately chose not to.
Was parking in the disabled section of a parking lot without the card. Also, all the other spots were filled with cars that had the card so there were probably others that weren't able to park because this driver was using the space
