Police soak pedestrian after driving through puddle on Leigh Road Eastleigh Hampshire
Hampshire Constabulary claim the police officer would have deemed the situation too risky to avoid the puddle.
A spokesperson for them said: "It is likely that the officer made an assessment that as they approached this junction, it was safer to continue driving through the puddle rather than stop abruptly and risk causing another vehicle to run into the back of the police car, or avoid the puddle by swerving towards the oncoming vehicle on the other side of the carriageway.
Terrible driver who forced me to take evasive action when attempting overtake into on-coming traffic in icy conditions. No respect for other people's lives - she shouldn't be on the roads.
Idiot decided to tailgate me for a good 100 metres, I only noticed as by chance I just happened to look in my wing mirrors and see his lights right up close to my rear bumper.
He then flew past me as soon the road widened, at around 50-60MPH in a 30 zone.
I flashed my lights about 3-4 times to sort of say "What the hell are you doing?".
He then proceeded to stop dead in the middle of the road... I stopped behind him... and sat there, he then crawled forward, then stopped. I went to drive round him on the wrong side of the road and he blocked me off.
He then eventually drove forward and moved off, with me following at a safe distance (heading homewards).
Said driver then pulled up on the left in a parking bay and stared at me out of the driver's side window as I drove past.
