Fly-tipping is bad. But what pissed me off was last night on Channel 5 Star I think it was.. we had this council litter enforcement talking about fly-tipping and litter dropping as though they were the same. They are not. Furthermore these little important people were going round the streets and entering shops? Following a woman with a pram into a store. They are not supposed to do this.
Furthermore several people offered to pick up what was on the floor.. they were refused. They were fined £100 pound.
This is Bristol Council enforcing this regime and I think it's draconian. By all means, go after people who fly-tip but don't act like little Hitlers picking on easy targets (I note every person they stopped/accosted on the street was white and smartly dressed?) and don't invent your own rules and laws to suit your pocket.
To everyone else. These people have no more power than you or I. Walk away. Do not engage with them. Walk into a private property - they are NOT allowed to enter. Either that or get on a bus, get in a taxi.. but walk away. They should not be harassing people.
If they block, touch or in any other way threaten you then that's grounds to defend yourself accordingly. Unless there is a PCSO or police officer at hand they cannot do a single thing and even then, there has to be evidence.
Littering is bad for sure, but this? Shove it where the sun doesn't shine.
Anyway, if the person shown is accused of said, then have you got any footage? Witnesses? I reckon this will get worse, as councils are now rationing use of their refuge sites.. again, I consider this draconian. It's not about fighting a disease they can seldom identify, it's about control. That's all it is.
