This is similar to many accidents involving police cars. The point being, it doesn't matter what you're driving..if you're splitting lanes and driving at high speed, you give other people less time to see you. Would it be reasonable for me to ride my motorbike fast across a roundabout, then moan when the people in front pull out? Or would it be better for me to say hey, look at the way I approached that roundabout and look how little time I gave people to JUDGE MY SPEED? That's right: judge someone's speed. To register your presence, judge your speed, assess the danger level and act. You have to make allowances for this, for people's reaction times and the fact it it's not just you they have to look out for. What looks to you like a deliberate pull-out may in fact be everything but. Whenever I negotiate roundabouts I take extra caution because of situations like this. Less speed more time to react, more time to slow down, more time to avoid a collision.

Mr Conroy,
I am not the white car driver and I do not have any anger issues they require attention. I actually took notice of the street names on the video and found the location on google maps, I then checked the speed limits on the feeder roads.

I would be very interested to see the video again with the sound track to see if the camera car driver sounded his horn while 2 feet from the rear bumper if the white car, if he did then that may have caused the anger in the white car driver; this is not an excuse for the White car drivers action, but may help to explain the context.

Dick,

I was merely pointing out that the camera car appears to be exceeding the speed limit by a good margin and I accept that the white car fails to give way (I never said otherwise, and I wonder why you would think I did?). Anyone with an once of sense can see that the situation only becomes a seriously close call because of the excess speed of the camera car and if the camera car had been travelling within the speed limit, this incident would have been minor and nothing to get too upset about. I also wonder why the camera car didn’t start to brake earlier, yes the white car should not have pulled out but the camera car could have and SHOULD HAVE braked much sooner in my opinion.

I am also big enough to admit that I have un-intentionally found myself in a similar situation to the white car when I have misjudges the speed and intention of another driver on a roundabout and I am sure many other driver have done the same; however, I have learnt from that mistake and pay extra care and attention in these situations. My worry is that the camera car driver will fail to admit to themselves that their excessive speed was a contributing factor and they will continue to speed through roundabouts and will find themselves in a similar situation before too long.

It is my belief that being right is not the most important thing when driving, it’s being safe. Sites like Rate-driver can be very educational if you are prepared to consider your own driving and if it that may one day put you in a situation similar to some of the things seen here.

I would do as Sarah has suggested and report this person as she has also stated if they have nothing to hide then they have nothing to fear

you actually swerve over towards the car take a close look as your right hand leaves the handle bar this causes you to swerve into the path of the car and not the driver swerving into you

Hello everyone,
I regret to inform you that this car does not exist as of the 3rd of February 2017. It passed the MOT and I began driving home, only to crash into a car that did an emergency stop. I didn't react fast enough and my car smacked the boot of the car in front. Both our cars went up in flames. The lady then said how it was my fault, despite she was the one breaking in the motorway. She sued me and I had to sell my car for parts, as it was broken. I'm now in dept.
