I think this is also a good example of why it is so dangerous to have idiots refusing to merge properly, forcing traffic on the motorway to brake. You might be able to brake and avoid a collision but the person approaching from your rear might not. And then they hit you. Do you think a major re-design of merge lanes is in order? When I am in the States this is much less of a problem, they seem to have a better approach including lower speeds.
'From the video footage' the white ford driver seems to be driving reasonably in what looks like a very tight car park. It seems to be the Volvo estate in front of it that was more unreasonable hogging all the space that prevented you from moving.
